Made from recycled bottles

Our panels are 100% polyester, known as PET, the same plastic used in drink bottles. Ours is made from recycled bottles. The fibres are pressed into a dense felt, which is what absorbs the sound. There's no fibreglass in it, no loose fibres, and nothing itchy. You can handle it with bare hands.

It's made in Australia, in 12mm and 24mm thicknesses, in 14 Habitat colours: Flint, Char, Coal, Truffle, Moss, Ember, Drift, Lake, Stream, Reed, Clay, Frost, Fern and Mist.

The fire rating, in plain words

Our panels are Group 1 under AS 5637.1, tested to AS ISO 9705-2003 (R2016). Group 1 is the best of the material groups in that Australian standard for wall and ceiling linings. It's the rating most commonly required in public buildings like offices, schools and hospitals. If your builder, certifier or landlord asks for documentation, ask us and we'll send it.

Cleaning

Not much to it. Vacuum with a brush head when the panels look dusty. For a mark, spot-clean the spot rather than washing the whole panel. Don't soak it. That's the whole routine.

Durability

PET felt is hard wearing. It holds its shape, it doesn't sag, and it doesn't fray when it's cut, so trimmed edges stay clean without any edging or binding. That's why the same panels work in a busy office and in a teenager's games room.

Every panel comes with a 10 year warranty.

Common questions

Does it actually work?

Yes, for echo. Our panels are rated NRC 0.85, which means they absorb about 85% of the sound that hits them instead of reflecting it back into the room. In a hard room the difference is obvious as soon as the panels go up.

Will it stop noise getting in from outside, or just stop it bouncing around?

Mostly the second one. These panels absorb sound inside the room, which cuts echo and makes speech clearer. They're not soundproofing, so they won't stop a neighbour's mower or traffic coming through a wall or window.

Can I install it myself?

Plenty of people do. The panels are light and easy to handle, and the desk and hanging formats are straightforward. If you'd rather not, we can arrange installation, which is quoted separately from the panels.

How do I clean it?

Vacuum with a brush head to lift dust, and spot-clean any marks rather than washing the whole panel. Don't soak it. That's all the maintenance it needs.

It's hard wearing and holds its shape, which is why it suits busy offices and family rooms. Every panel is covered by a 10 year warranty.
